Our offices are open Monday through Friday from 8:30 to 4:30 except for Town holidays. Our Department serves as staff for these four boards, which are comprised of volunteer members who live in the Town.

Applications for signs often require review from the Town's Sign Review Committee. This process may also require additional review from the Architectural Review Board as well as the Zoning Board of Appeals if an application requires a variance from the Town's Zoning Law. Planning - The Town Zoning Law requires some development applications to obtain approval from the Eastchester Planning Board before building permits can be applied for. In addition, we maintain property files for all properties in the Town, excluding the Villages of Tuckahoe and Bronxville which have their own Building Departments. Our staff also conducts inspections related to code enforcement for existing properties.

As part of the permitting process, inspections are undertaken by our staff to ensure any work meets the appropriate regulations. Our staff serves the community under the two general areas of focus:īuilding - When buildings are constructed, demolished, modified or altered, permits must be obtained for most work. All development located within the 'Town Outside' of the incorporated Villages of Tuckahoe and Bronxville is regulated by our department. The Eastchester Building and Planning Department handles a wide range of responsibilities with respect to the built environment within the Town of Eastchester.
